Getting Started
If you're asking this question, it probably is. Therapy isn't just for crisis moments — it's for anyone who wants to understand themselves better, work through challenges, or simply have a dedicated space to process life. You don't need to be in a breakdown to benefit from support.
The first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you in, your history, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. It's also a chance for you to ask me questions and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure — it's a conversation, not an evaluation.
That depends entirely on you and your goals. Some people find significant relief in 8–12 sessions. Others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We'll check in regularly about your progress and adjust as needed. You're always in control of how long we work together.
Logistics
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at my office in Murrells Inlet, SC and telehealth sessions via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients anywhere in South Carolina. Many clients find telehealth just as effective as in-person — and far more convenient. You can switch between formats as your needs change.
Most clients start with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and consistency early on. As you progress, we may shift to bi-weekly or monthly check-ins. The frequency is always something we decide together based on your needs and goals.
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee. Life happens — I understand that — and I'll always try to be flexible when possible.
Insurance & Fees
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. For all other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill — a detailed receipt — that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. I recommend calling your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health coverage.
Please reach out directly to discuss current rates. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients who need financial flexibility. I believe cost should never be the reason someone doesn't get support.
I accept all major credit and debit cards and HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service.
